The Central Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce Inc. is the peak body for representing businesses and business people from the Burleigh, Robina and Varsity Lakes area. This includes businesses located in Varsity Lakes, Koala Park, Burleigh Waters, Burleigh Heads, West Burleigh, Reedy Creek, Miami and Robina.
The role of your Chamber of Commerce includes the following:
- to monitor and liaise with the Gold Coast City Council, State and Federal governments on issues of importance to our members and assist these bodies in providing an environment in which our members businesses profit.
- to act as a forum for members to bring issues to the attention of other members and arrange for action to be taken.
- to promote networking between members of the chamber for the benefit of all our members.
- to engage in activities that promote awareness in the community of the businesses located in the Burleigh area.
- to work with other bodies such as Gold Coast Combined Chamber of Commerce Inc., Commerce Queensland, Gold Coast Tourism, Burleigh Tourism Group, and other local chambers for the benefit of our members.
Specific examples of things done by the Chamber recently include:
- Organisation of monthly networking functions at local businesses and restaurants. These functions have been well attended by local business people and provide a forum for local business people to meet and network with other local business people;
- As the peak body representing local businesses we are one of the first organisations to whom the Gold Coast City Council looked for feedback on initiatives such as the Burleigh Foreshore Plan, the Centre Improvement Plan and the new draft town plan for the whole of the Gold Coast;
The strength of the chamber lies in its membership. We strongly recommend anyone who wants to become a member or who is not sure what we do and how we can help them to come along to our monthly meeting or contact one of our committee members to discuss these matters further.
