President - Nic Rone - president@centralgc.com.au
President Nic Rone is the Managing Director and co-owner of Varsity Lakes Travel. A respected travel professional he has been in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality throughout the world for over 20 years. Nic spent 10 years as Senior Operations Manager for one of the Eastern Mediterranean’s largest Travel operators responsible for Insight Vacations, Trafalgar Tours, Contiki 18-35's holidays and Creative. Nicholas continues to travel throughout the world and maintains a strong association with the Travel Industry suppliers and operators in Australia and abroad. Nic and his German wife Gisela have two young daughters - Holly and Isabelle.
Committee Member - Margie Gardner
 Margie spent the first 33 yrs in Adelaide and is one of eleven children, her previous employment was at the Hyatt Adelaide. She then bought the Sign a Rama business and went to West Palm Beach USA for 2 weeks training. Margie was a mentor on the advanceburleigh.com website. She recently won the top achievement in marketing at the Sign a Rama Australasian expo as well as the Sign a Rama mentor for 15 Qld stores. In May of this year she received the rotary community service award for 2007.
Secretary - Peter Hayes
Committee Member Peter, a retired Senior VP and Regional Director for advertising giant D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, was elected to the RSPCA Gold Coast & Hinterland Branch as volunteer Treasurer & Shops Coordinator in September 2004, and to the RSPCA Qld State Council in June 2007. Peter has worked with the world’s most prominent clients (Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble) in Sydney, New York, Toronto, Seoul, Bogotá, Puerto Rico, San Juan, Caracas, and Miami. His leadership turned the Branch from ordinary to extraordinary.

Jason started Low Cost IT in July 2003 after spending years in the corporate IT arena gaining corporate experience working for companies such as Stellar Call Solutions Pty Ltd and AAPT Mobile Pty Ltd. During this time he specialised in Microsoft Server Technologies and Citrix Metaframe (Thin client Solutions). He currently has 3 repair centres online between the Gold Coast and Brisbane and a team of professional technicians whose skills cover a wide range of IT related areas. Their mission is to deliver quick and professional IT solutions and to assist clients in the effective planning of their IT infrastructure. They do this by building a strong relationship with their clients and ensure that they have a positive experience whenever dealing with them.
Committee Member - John Mitchell
John has lived on the Central Gold Coast since 1974 and says he wouldn’t live anywhere else.  The Miami High student went on to Griffith University and did his Bachelor of Business of which he majored in Commercial Computing.  For 20+ years he has been involved in the development of a large number of software solutions for businesses of many industries. For the past 10 years John has primarily focused on Internet solutions and started his own business in 2003.  Inology a Gold Coast based “Website Design and Development” company, services both small and large clients alike. From home office through to large corporations, their state-of-the-art products are second to none and their commitment to quality is demonstrated in every business solution they provide.
Committee Member - Marcus Sullivan
Central GC’s newest committee member Marcus Sullivan, brings with him over 12 years experience in the golf industry and related sectors. He completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Golf Resort Management in 1998 before further progressing his golf playing career completing his traineeship becoming a member of the PGA of Australia in 2000 under the guidance of globally respected golf coach Gary Edwin at Hope Island Resort. Marcus played extensively on the Australasian golf circuit before succumbing to the “other side of the fence”. With a passion for sales, marketing and all things revenue driven, he progressed his resort golf management career initially as corporate golf manager at Emerald Lakes GC, before joining the Gold Coast’s premier resort golf courses Robina Woods and The Colonial now in the role of company Director of Sales. He is responsible for managing the corporate golf events and the generation of the company business strategies while maintaining strong links to a number of industry bodies and associations. Additionally, Marcus conducts university lectures on behalf of the PGA International Golf Institute (PGAIGI) providing real life lectures to the golf industry managers of tomorrow, coming full circle having been a student himself less than 10 years ago. A touch football junky, he enjoys all sports though with the arrival of his daughter Tara in August 2007, family life now takes pride and place.
Treasurer - Joe Walsh

Joe completed a Bachelor of Business (accounting major) at the University of New England in 1990 and followed this with a Graduate Diploma of Business (Information Systems) in 1992. Joe is a registered tax agent and is a qualified Justice of Peace. Recently, Joe completed his required studies to become a SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA). As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Joe has also taught students undertaking the CA program to become qualified Chartered Accountants through a series of workshops.

Joe’s professional career began in the audit division at Ernst and Young on the Gold Coast. He then joined Illingworth and Co, a small Chartered Accounting firm where he completed his professional year requirement to become a Chartered Accountant and moved into a managerial position. After gaining extensive experience with the Gold Coast Firm’s, Joe accepted a position Heinz Watties Australia in Papua New Guinea to broaden his international experience. After two years abroad Joe declined an attractive management position with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Papua New Guinea, returning to the Gold Coast to become a partner in his old firm. Over the next two and a half years his vision and expertise played a vital part in the firm’s success and growth.

In September 2001, Joe formed Joe Walsh and Associates. Since then, the firm has experienced rapid growth and the client base continues to grow.

Joe practises in the areas of accounting and taxation and specialises in the following:
·        Using structures to separate personal and business assets and  protect his
         clients asset base
·        Advising individuals and businesses on strategies to minimise tax
·        Annual reviews of assets and liabilities including valuation of business assets
·        Administration & Retirement Strategies for Self Managed Superannuation Funds
·        Advising clients on buying, selling and restructuring businesses
·        Business & Strategic Planning through analysis and ongoing monitoring of Growth,
         Profit and Cash flow

 Joe assists not for profit organisations by volunteering his time as a committee person in various roles and sits on a number of client boards as an external financial controller.
